On The Quiet Pinot Noir

"Made 'On The Quiet', the classy 2024 vintage was grown in The Wrekin Vineyard, in the Southern Valleys, hand-picked, and matured for nine months in French oak barriques (partly new). Deep ruby, it is mouthfilling and concentrated, with rich, well-ripened plum, spice and nut flavours, complex and savoury, and finely balanced tannins. Showing obvious potential for cellaring, it should be at its best 2029+."

"An ambitious wine with lashings of spicy, cinnamon oak over concentrated black cherry and blueberry fruit, this is clearly built with ageability in mind, deriving its structure from both grape and wood tannins which firm up on the drying finish. The fruit is very primary at present, possessing a polished violet sheen to match the impactful oak treatment. This is going to need a few years in bottle to absorb its wood and tannins before it shows its underlying elegance, but certainly has the fruit quality to withstand the ageing 26 Nov 2025"
